American-Made LED Recessed Lights
Posted on December 2nd, 2011 No commentsOrders for our newly designed Mid-Town LED Recessed Light keep pouring in, and we couldn’t be happier. Why? Because we build them right here in our Brooklyn office. LED lights made in the USA are pretty hard to find, so LED Waves is a proud pioneer in bringing green tech back to our great country.
The Mid-Town LED Recessed Light is a people-pleaser off of the production line as well. Most are drawn to it because it’s stylish and low-profile enough to be installed virtually anywhere. Electricians like that it comes with its own driver and can be dimmed easily with a dimmable LED power supply and buck puck. LED aficionados appreciate the fact that the Mid-Town is built with advanced CREE XPG LEDs.And the US Department of Energy likes that it’s a high-quality LED light that lives up to its product claims – that’s why the Mid-Town earned status as a Lighting Facts Product®.
Each Mid-Town LED Recessed Light reflects the superb engineering, handiwork and integrity you can expect from American-made products. And since we build them locally, we save money on shipping and pass those savings onto you! Call us at 1(800) 986-0169 if you need discounts on large quantity orders. After all, what are neighbors for?

Everligh Receives Plant Grow Lights Orders Benefited from Unusual Winter
Posted on December 1st, 2011 No commentsLately, unusually cold winter has affected the output of agriculture. Plant Grow Lights may be good for the growers to solve this problem ,and Everlight has actively to seize this opportunity with orders from Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science, an American herbal plant research organization and several European agricultural equipment suppliers.
Mainland China and the United States have issued warnings against unusually cold winter this year. Hebei Provincial Government of China has issued yellow alert for snowstorm while the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration forecast that El Nino Oscillation will bring the Northern hemisphere an unusually cold winter this year.
Unusually low temperatures globally willpound the food shortage issue since they represent fewer growing days. Everlight executives noted that plant grow lights are used as an auxiliary light source for plants, which makes up for shorter winter sunlight in high latitudes.
Everlight’s LED plant-grow light technology has grown mature following its entry into this segment this year. Blue and red LEDs are the most crucial light sources for photosynthesis of green plants.
It’s noted that Philips and Osram have also ventured into the emerging market. In the first quarter of 2011, Everlight and some 10 manufacturers including Philips reached an agreement to develop horticultural factory technologies, including plant-grow lights, plant nutrition liquid, and environmental humidity control.

LED Lights at IFMA WW 2011
Posted on November 25th, 2011 No commentsIf you’re a facility manager, you’re probably in Scottsdale, Arizona for IFMA’s World Workplace Expo – or at least, you wish you were. LED Specialists Dave and Justin are there, showcasing advanced energy-saving lighting solutions for the workplace.
The Genesys Prime LED T8 tube light will probably garner the most attention at this show. Building managers like this Lighting Facts® Product for its energy savings and long-lasting durability (which means fewer maintenance calls for fluorescent replacements). And their colleagues can enjoy a better quality of light from these LED T8s. That’s because the Genesys was engineered specifically for high CRI, so the output is as close to daylight as you can get from indoor lighting!Make sure to stop by LED Waves booth 1201 if you’re at IFMA WW11. If you’re more into the field of hospitality, we hope to see you at our next trade show: The International Hotel Motel + Restaurant Show, November 12-15 at the Jacob Javits Center. We’ll be at booth 2726, hoping that someone stops by with food samples.

New AC/DC LED-Driver is Dimmable down to Zero and Flicker-free
Posted on November 25th, 2011 No commentsTRIAC-dimmers were originally designed to dim incandescent filament lamps. The elimination of these lamp types increases the need for alternative dimming methods. The use of TRIAC-dimmers in LED-systems causes unwanted flicker, visible to the eye, due to phase modulation. This prevents linear dimming of LEDs down to zero. If existing TRIAC-Dimmers are to be used with LED-systems, a new type of LED-Driver is required.

R releases with the RACT20-family a new generation of AC/DC-drivers, that can be dimmed linearly and without flicker from 100% down to zero. The RACT20-family is equipped with a specially developed TRIAC input, which is not affected by the PFC-circuit of the driver. An ideal solution for many LED-systems, where dimming is easy. These new AC/DC-drivers are available with either 230VAC or 115VAC input. They offer 20 watt and can support 5 to15 power LEDs or LED-chains, with constant currents of 350, 500, 700 or 1050mA. The power factor (PFC) is >95% and therefore better than required by EN 61000-3-2. RACT20-drivers are designed for indoor applications, class IP20 and measure only 32.6 x 16.5 x 11.1mm (L x W x H). They are EN/UL 60950-1 certified with a “Design Lifetime” >70.000 hours. Warranty is 5 years.
